How to update the Windows Media Player 11 library
So, I downloaded a cd from the Internet and I place it on my music folder. I then select all my music and hit “Play all.” Nothing happens. It gave me some weird error about me missing some file or that something was broken. In other words, garbage.
I googled the error and found the solution:
- Launch Windows Media Player.
- Click the Library tab to display the list of albums and tracks running in the library.
- Click on the arrow under the Library tab. In the menu that appears, select the Apply changes to information on the media.
- The library is then refreshed. Click the Close button.
- The physical files and folders deleted from your hard drive are removed from the library and the new files are added.
Except that didn’t solve my problem. As it turned out, my cd had a jpeg with the album picture. The problem was that WMP was trying to read that jpeg as a music file. **sigh** I deleted the picture and the problem was fixed.
